    Description

Discover the Wilderness of Hlane Royal National Park
Hlane Royal National Park, established in 1967 following the creation of Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary in 1961, was proclaimed a national park under the guidance of King Sobhuza II. The name "Hlane," meaning 'wilderness' in siSwati, perfectly captures the essence of this remarkable destination.

Spanning 22,000 hectares, Hlane offers an affordable escape into the lowveld, featuring ancient hardwood forests, an array of big game, and vibrant birdlife. Historically rich as the region’s hunting grounds, Hlane remains home to the largest herds of game in the Kingdom, including lions, elephants, vultures, and marabou storks.

    Accommodation
Hlane provides two distinct accommodation options:

Ndlovu Camp: Located in the heart of the park's big game area, this camp is a hub of activity and excitement.
Bhubesi Camp: Situated 16 km from Ndlovu Camp, Bhubesi offers a tranquil self-catering experience outside the endangered species area.

    Activities
All activities within the park are guided, with departures primarily from Ndlovu Camp. Guests can enjoy self-drive safaris in designated areas, while the lion habitat remains a restricted zone accessible only via guided game drives.

Day visitors are welcome to explore the park through self-drives, picnics, restaurant visits, and guided activities. Please note, sunset and sunrise tours are generally not available for Bhubesi Camp guests unless a full group booking is made and prearranged with management.

    Essential Information
Gates: Open from sunrise to sunset
Amenities and Activities: Camping, wildlife viewing, restaurant, picnic spots, game drives, birding, big game viewing, family-friendly experiences, guided mountain biking, guided walks, cultural tours.
