Luca's father, Miguel Belfi, had a dream to bring authentic Italian ice-cream to South Africa. He adapted the 138-year-old recipe to suit the South African palate. In 1994, they opened "La Veneziana" in Magaliesburg, a charming town with big dreams. Demand soared, leading to the birth of their very own factory in 1999. Even at the age of 3, Luca played his part, handing bricks to his dad as they built their dream factory, brick by brick.

"Bambini," which means "children" in Italian, was the perfect name for this venture. It represents the family's enduring heritage, a recipe passed down through generations, and a commitment to using only the finest real ingredients.
